When the time comes when you decide you want to get deeper into the Bible and study the word for yourself, it can seem a little daunting at first and you might wonder where to begin. So here are just a few resources you might need to help assist you in gaining a deeper understanding of the written word.

These are a few of the more popular resources which are generally a ‘must have’. There are lots of other resources that people will have, but these are just to give you an idea of basic tools that people will use for bible study.

There are thousands of resources available, however the above are just a few books you may wish to obtain to assist you with your bible study.

As well as dictionaries, it is also useful to have different translations of the bible. This is because by reading the same verse in different translations you will get a better idea of what the text means. Bible translations are generally targeted at specific audiences. Some still prefer the King James, whilst others may go for The Message Bible.. however, by reading the same text in a few different translations this will help you to get a better idea of how to apply the text.

There are a number of online websites that can help you with your bible study which also allows you to compare translations. Its always useful to own a few translations yourself, but it could prove far less expensive to view different versions on available websites. Here are a few of those websites that offer these services:
